Swapping mouthwashes after bleeding gums—worth it?

Had some annoying gum bleeding lately, especially when I floss (which I swear I’m actually doing more now). I switched from my usual minty mouthwash to one that claims to help with gum health, but honestly, I can’t tell if it’s working or just burning my mouth more. Has anyone actually noticed a difference after switching brands or types? Or is it all just marketing hype?

I get what you mean—when I started braces, I tried switching to one of those “gum care” mouthwashes too. Honestly, the burning just made me more paranoid about my gums. For me, the real difference came from focusing more on how I flossed (gentler, slower), not really the rinse itself. I still use my old mouthwash sometimes and haven’t noticed much difference in bleeding. Maybe the marketing is a bit overhyped?

That burning feeling always throws me off too—sometimes it feels like if it stings, it must be working, but I’m not convinced that’s true. I switched to a “gum health” rinse after a cleaning because my hygienist suggested it, but honestly, brushing and flossing gently seemed to help more than the rinse itself. Have you noticed if your gums are less sore or swollen since you switched, or is it mostly just the same as before? Sometimes I wonder if these products are just banking on us wanting a quick fix.
