I get why you’d want to double-check everything, but honestly, I’ve found that over-prepping just ramps up my nerves. Last time, I tried to keep it simple—just my phone, ID, and insurance card. If I start packing extras, I end up spiraling and second-guessing myself even more. Sometimes less is actually less stressful, at least for me.

I totally get this. Last time I had a crown pop off mid-lunch, I literally just grabbed my wallet and keys and bolted—didn’t even brush my teeth first (don’t judge). My “emergency kit” is basically panic and hope. The more I try to plan for dental disasters, the more I forget something obvious anyway… like, say, actual shoes.

Same here—my “kit” is just me frantically Googling what to do while half-dressed. I once forgot my phone but remembered floss. Priorities get weird when a tooth goes rogue.

I feel this on a spiritual level. The last time I chipped a tooth, my “emergency kit” was basically a half-empty tube of sensitive toothpaste and a prayer. Here’s my actual step-by-step: 1) Panic and check the mirror for visible damage, 2) Google “is my tooth going to fall out,” 3) Swish with salt water because someone’s grandma said it helps, 4) Try to remember if I have dental wax (never do), and 5) Promise myself I’ll finally put together a real kit next time.

Honestly, grabbing floss over your phone sounds about right. I once packed ibuprofen and a tiny mirror for a trip, then realized I left my insurance card at home. Priorities get weird when you’re imagining worst-case scenarios—like having to MacGyver a crown out of chewing gum. Anyone else keep random dental stuff in their bag just in case, or is that just me being neurotic?

Packing random dental stuff is honestly more relatable than you’d think. I’ve only had one “dental emergency” (if you can call a mildly cracked filling that) and it sent me into full-on panic mode. I did the whole mirror check, then spent half an hour reading horror stories online about what could happen if you ignore it. It’s wild how your brain jumps straight to “what if my whole tooth falls out at dinner?”

I wish I was the kind of person who kept dental wax or even extra floss around, but usually it’s just whatever’s rolling around in the bottom of my bag. And yeah, the insurance card is never where I need it when something actually happens—glad I’m not the only one there.

Honestly, it doesn’t sound neurotic to me at all. Dental stuff always feels way more urgent than it probably is, especially if you’ve never dealt with it before. If carrying a tiny kit helps you stress less, I say go for it.
