porcelain vs composite veneers - worth the extra bucks?

Been thinking about finally getting veneers done, but I'm kinda stuck between porcelain and composite. Porcelain looks amazing from what I've seen online, super natural and shiny, but man...the price tag is no joke. Composite seems way more affordable, but I'm worried they'll stain or chip easier and I'll end up regretting it later.
I mean, I don't wanna cheap out on something that's literally gonna be on my face every day, you know? But at the same time, dropping thousands extra for porcelain feels kinda painful. I've heard some places offer financing plans, which might make porcelain doable without totally wrecking my savings.
Anyone here gone through this decision already? Did you go porcelain or composite, and do you feel like it was worth the money in the long run?

Yeah, totally get your hesitation...composite can look great at first, but I've heard from friends that coffee and wine stains become noticeable pretty fast. Porcelain's pricier, but might save headaches down the line. Tough call though.
Staining is only part of the long-term cost. Composite may be easier to repair or polish, while porcelain can involve more irreversible enamel removal and may still need replacement later. Anyone comparing the two could ask for a written plan covering how much enamel each option requires, expected maintenance, likely replacement needs, and the estimated cost over several years, not just the initial quote. A dentist who can lay out that comparison makes the tradeoff easier to judge.
