I also felt like I was wearing someone else’s smile at first, but it really does settle in after a bit.

Totally get this. For the first week, every time I caught my reflection I did a double-take, like “whose teeth are those?” It’s wild how much lighting messes with it too—my teeth looked super bright in the bathroom but kinda meh in my car mirror. Did anyone else have issues with eating certain foods at first? I was so paranoid about biting into apples...

Funny, but I actually had the opposite problem with food. I was so hyped about my “new” teeth that I immediately went for a big ol’ burger. Didn’t even think twice. No issues with apples either, but coffee? That made me nervous. I swear, every time I took a sip I felt like I was risking it all. The color thing is real though—sometimes I look like a toothpaste commercial, other times it’s like... did anything even change?

I totally get this—coffee is my weakness and honestly, I keep picturing my teeth turning into little brown sponges. The color thing messes with my head too. Some days I’m convinced I’ve got a Hollywood smile, other days I’m double-checking old photos to see if it’s just in my mind.

Yeah, I get nervous about coffee too, especially after bonding. I keep a straw handy, but honestly, sometimes I just want to sip straight from the mug like a normal person. Some days I swear my teeth look fine, others I’m convinced they’re getting darker... hard to tell if it’s real or just me overthinking.

I totally get where you’re coming from. I’ve had bonding on my front teeth for about two years now, and I’m always second-guessing if they’re picking up stains or if it’s just in my head. Some days under certain lighting, I swear they look a bit off, but then I check in the mirror later and they seem fine.

Using a straw helps, but honestly, it’s not always practical—especially with hot drinks. My dentist said that bonded teeth can stain more easily than natural enamel, but regular cleanings and avoiding super dark drinks helps. I still drink coffee, just maybe not as much as before, and I try to rinse with water after. Haven’t noticed any major changes, but the anxiety is real.

It’s tough not to overthink it, but I guess some of it comes down to lighting and mood. If you find yourself obsessing, maybe ask your dentist at your next cleaning—they can usually tell if it’s actual staining or just perception.
