I'm kinda in a bind here...my dentist says I need dentures soon, but I don't have dental insurance right now. I've heard some pretty scary numbers thrown around, but I'm hoping they're exaggerated. Anyone been through this recently and can give me a realistic idea of how much I'm looking at? Or maybe some tips on finding affordable options? Seriously hoping I won't have to sell my car for teeth, lol.

Haha, I totally get that feeling...went through something similar last year, and yeah, the sticker shock is real. Without insurance, dentures can run anywhere from around $1,000 to upwards of $3,000 per arch, depending on the quality and where you live. I ended up paying about $2,200 for mine (upper only), and that was after shopping around quite a bit.
One thing I'd definitely suggest is checking out dental schools if there's one near you. They usually offer discounted rates since students do the work under supervisionβtakes a bit longer, but can save you a good chunk of change. Also, some clinics offer sliding scale fees based on your income, so that's worth looking into as well.
Hang in there...it's stressful, but there are options out there that won't leave you toothless or carless, lol.
