The clove oil taste is brutal, but honestly, I’d take that over the throbbing pain any day.

I hear you on the clove oil—it's pretty awful, but the relief is worth it. When I had a dry socket, I tried to get creative with food, but texture was a huge issue. Did you notice mashed avocado felt kind of slimy after a few days? I ended up switching to cold Greek yogurt because it seemed to coat the area and help with sensitivity. Ever try that, or did the dairy make things worse for you?

Funny you mention Greek yogurt—it was a total lifesaver for me, too. I actually found dairy soothing, but I know some folks say it can mess with healing. Never really got into avocado for that reason you said... just felt too weird after a while. Did you ever try blending soups or smoothies? I found cold blended pea soup surprisingly tolerable, even if it sounds odd. Curious if anyone else managed hot foods, or did everything have to be chilled for you?

Greek yogurt seems to be a crowd favorite for a reason—there’s just something about how it soothes that raw feeling. I’ve seen a lot of people swear by cold foods, but every now and then someone manages a lukewarm soup or even oatmeal if they let it cool down enough. Personally, I always found smoothies to be the easiest, especially with a bit of banana for texture. The hot food thing is tricky, though… some folks can’t tolerate even a little warmth near the area. You’re definitely not alone in finding what works and sticking to it.

For me, the cold actually made things ache more after a while. Ended up sticking to room temp mashed potatoes and super soft bread—less shock to the system. Not as exciting as smoothies, but hey, it worked for my sanity.

It’s funny, I actually found cold stuff made my jaw tense up too—like an ice cream headache but in my mouth. Warm-ish scrambled eggs and plain pasta were my go-tos. Not glamorous, but at least I didn’t wince every bite.
