Interesting perspective—water flossers can be great for soothing inflamed gums, but I agree they're not always thorough enough on their own. Traditional flossing definitely gives you more tactile control, especially around braces or tight spaces. Curious though, did you notice your gums acting differently right after switching methods, or was it more gradual? Sometimes the adjustment period itself can cause temporary gum sensitivity or inflammation...

Yeah, I totally relate to this. When I first switched from regular flossing to a water flosser (because of braces), my gums felt kinda weird and sensitive for a week or two. Honestly, I was pretty anxious about it, thinking something was wrong. But after sticking with it and being gentle, things settled down. Maybe your gums are just adjusting too? Hang in there—it does get better after a bit...

Hmm, your experience makes sense, but I'd be cautious about assuming it's always just an adjustment thing.

I felt the same way when I switched to a water flosser, but in my case the sensitivity didn't really improve until I changed the pressure setting and technique. Maybe double-check if you're using a gentler setting or angling it right? Sometimes small tweaks can make a big difference...

Yeah, water flossers can be sneaky like that. When I first started using mine, I went full blast thinking more power = cleaner teeth... nope, just angry gums and regret. Dialed it way down and adjusted the angle a bit—total game changer. Funny how gums throw tantrums over the smallest things, huh? Might be worth playing around with your settings a bit before worrying too much.

Yeah, been there myself. I remember cranking mine up thinking I'd get dentist-level clean teeth, but instead ended up with irritated gums for days. Took me some experimenting to find the sweet spot—lower pressure, warmer water, and gentler angles made all the difference. Gums can be pretty sensitive, especially if you're new to water flossing or changing your routine. Hang in there, it usually settles down after a bit of tweaking.
