I get nervous about germs, but honestly, I’ve never used anything fancy either. Just rinse the brush really well, let it dry out, and swap it when it starts to look worn. My dentist always said that’s more than enough unless you’re sharing. Tried boiling my brush once—made me worry it’d melt, so I stopped. Your method sounds practical... sometimes simple is best.
