I totally get the hesitation about switching to electric brushes—felt exactly the same way when I first made the jump. Honestly, I was convinced I'd end up shredding my gums or something, especially since they're pretty sensitive already. But it turned out way less dramatic than I expected. Starting on the gentlest setting is definitely the way to go. I did that too, and it helped a lot with getting used to the sensation. The first few days felt a little weird—like ticklish almost—but nothing painful or uncomfortable.

One thing I noticed though is that it's easy to press too hard at first because you're used to manually scrubbing away. Took me a bit to realize that the brush does most of the work for you, so you barely need any pressure at all. Once I figured that out, my gums actually felt better than before. Less irritation overall, which surprised me.

Also, skipping the app sounds like a smart move. I tried it briefly and honestly just ended up annoyed by notifications reminding me how inconsistent my brushing habits were (like thanks, toothbrush, I'm aware 😂). Keeping it simple worked better for me in the long run.

Have you thought about brush head types yet? There are so many options out there—soft bristles, sensitive gums versions, whitening ones... it's kind of overwhelming. I stuck with sensitive gum heads at first but eventually switched to regular soft bristles without issues. Curious if anyone else found a noticeable difference between them or if it's mostly marketing hype?

Totally agree about the app thing, mine kept nagging me too—felt like having a second mom on my phone 😂. On brush heads, I tried the whitening ones briefly... didn't notice much difference honestly. Anyone actually see results from those?

Haha, same here with the whitening heads—felt like a gimmick tbh. My kiddo even asked if my teeth were supposed to glow in the dark after using them 😂. Regular ones seem just fine, and honestly, I'm just happy if he brushes without me nagging every five minutes... I don't need an app doing it too!

Haha, totally agree about the whitening heads being a bit gimmicky. We tried them too, and honestly, didn't notice much difference except my wallet feeling lighter. Regular brush heads seem to do the job just fine—dentist even said as long as we're brushing properly and consistently, that's what counts. Plus, less fuss means fewer battles with the kids at bedtime... win-win in my book.

Haha, I feel you on the whitening heads—I fell for that marketing trap too. My dentist just laughed when I asked if they were worth it and said something like, "Well, your teeth don't know how much money you're spending." Honestly, I've found that sticking to regular heads and sneaking in some whitening toothpaste every now and then does the trick just fine. Plus, fewer fancy attachments means less clutter in my already overflowing bathroom drawer...
