Haha, I see this all the time—some people really go to town on their teeth like they're scrubbing pots and pans. I used to be guilty of it myself, actually. Even after years in dental care, I still had to consciously remind myself to ease up. Pressure sensors definitely help, but another trick I found useful was switching to a softer brush head. Felt weird at first, but now my gums thank me for it...

Switching to a softer brush head is definitely underrated advice. Did you notice any sensitivity improvements after making the switch? I've seen patients who were convinced they had sensitive teeth, but it turned out they were just brushing way too hard. Pressure sensors are great, but honestly, retraining your brushing habits makes the biggest difference long-term. Glad you found something that works for you—your gums will definitely appreciate it down the road.

Totally agree about retraining habits... I switched to electric a while back and now I'm paranoid about pressing too hard even with the sensor. Does anyone find themselves overthinking it at first? Also curious if anyone's noticed a real difference between pricier brush heads and the generic ones—worth the extra cash or nah?

I get the paranoia, but honestly, I wouldn't stress too much about pressing hard—just hold it lightly and let the brush do its thing. As for brush heads, I've tried both and haven't noticed a huge difference... generic ones seem fine to me.

Totally agree about the pressure thing—holding it lightly is key. When I first switched, I was pressing way too hard without realizing it, and my gums got a bit sensitive. Once I eased up, things improved pretty quickly. About brush heads, I've noticed the generic ones work fine most of the time, but occasionally I've had one or two that wore out faster. Still, for the price difference, I'm good with swapping them out slightly more often.
