I’m right there with you on the notification overload—my phone’s already buzzing enough without my toothbrush joining in. I’ve always wondered if the pressure sensors and apps actually help people brush better, or if they just add more stuff to keep track of. I’ve stuck with a basic timer brush too, and my checkups have been solid. Has anyone noticed real changes in their dental health after switching to all those smart features, or is it mostly peace of mind? Sometimes I feel like all those extras are just clever marketing... but maybe I’m missing out?

We tried one of those fancy brushes with the app for my daughter, thinking it’d motivate her to brush better. Honestly, after the first week the novelty wore off and she just wanted to get it over with. The pressure sensor beeped a lot at first, but it didn’t really make a difference in her checkups compared to the basic brush she used before. For us, good habits mattered way more than the tech. I get why people like the gadgets, but I don’t think they’re a magic fix.

I hear you, but I’ve seen a few kids (and, embarrassingly, more than a few adults) who just cannot get the hang of brushing without a little extra help. Those pressure sensors can be annoying, sure, but sometimes they’re the wakeup call people need—like my cousin, who thought he was basically sanding down his gums. The real trick is, if the brush makes it fun or gives feedback in a way your kid actually cares about, it can help build those habits you mentioned. Not a magic fix, but sometimes a decent sidekick.
