Hello I am a nervous patient who can worry immensely when it comes to any medical procedure. Worried one rushed to the first option and didn’t do due diligence when shopping around for a dentist. Plus not knowing anything regarding the field makes it easy for worry to seep in. Something that may be normal and not a problem might seem to me due to not having much clarity or even an understanding. Thank you for any help or peace of mind c:

I recently had a root canal this would be the second one for this tooth

Had one before but with a temporary crown only for a year+ till the temp crown wore out where when my gums were inflamed it was be puffy and overcome the temp crown that withered.

So got a new root canal from the dentist and the hygienist/assistant did the fitting for the temporary crown and I am wondering if it looks fine/normal or was it filed down too much. I wonder if it’s just for the temporary crown and the permanent they might add material and just shape it. Or that it needs to be that low to help preserve the life of the root canal/crown due to pressure i would have from biting.

Pictures provided are root canal side(Left side) and then my right side of my mouth(right side

I had something similar happen a while back. My dentist explained that they usually file down the tooth a bit more for the temp crown to avoid pressure when biting, since it's not as strong as the permanent one. Once I got the permanent crown, it felt way more natural and comfortable. Yours doesn't look too unusual to me, but I'm no expert either... just sharing my experience.

Yeah that’s what people are saying, so the temp crown was filed down a bit more but the permanent wasn’t filed as short low if anything it was bigger?
