"My dentist reassured me multiple times that it was normal, but you know how anxiety works...I still googled symptoms obsessively for weeks."

Haha, this is *exactly* me right now. My daughter had a retreatment about three weeks ago, and I've been driving myself nuts googling every little thing. She hasn't complained of outright pain, but she's definitely sensitive to cold drinks and crunchy snacks. As a parent, it's hard not to worry—especially since kids aren't always great at describing exactly what they're feeling. Half the time I wonder if she's downplaying it just to avoid another dentist visit (can't blame her there).

Reading your experience helps reassure me a bit, though. Two months sounds like forever when you're in the middle of it, but knowing that sensitivity can linger that long without it meaning something's seriously wrong is comforting. Our dentist also mentioned patience being key and recommended Sensodyne as well, but honestly, my daughter isn't thrilled with the taste so it's been hit or miss.

It's funny how much dental stuff can ramp up anxiety levels, isn't it? Even when you're told repeatedly it's normal, your brain still goes into overdrive imagining worst-case scenarios. I'm trying to remind myself that healing takes time, nerves are finicky things, and every tooth reacts differently.

Anyway, thanks for sharing your story—it really helps to hear from someone who's made it through the waiting game already. Guess we'll just keep being careful with ice cream and popcorn for now and hope things settle down soon...

Haha, kids are masters at that—I remember doing the same thing myself. Honestly though, sensitivity lingering for a while after retreatment isn't uncommon. Still, if your gut feeling keeps nagging you, there's nothing wrong with getting a second opinion. Sometimes just hearing another dentist confirm it's normal can really ease your mind...and save you from late-night Google spirals. Hang in there!

Been there myself—had a root canal retreatment a couple years back, and it took a good month before things felt totally normal again. I kept second-guessing if something was off or if the dentist had overdone it somehow. Did they mention anything about inflammation or irritation around the tooth? Sometimes that's what drags out the discomfort. Definitely trust your instincts, but give it some time too... teeth can be annoyingly slow healers.

Had mine redone last year, felt weird for weeks. Dentist said inflammation can linger, recommended saltwater rinses. Helped a lot. Teeth just heal slow sometimes... hang in there.

Had a similar experience a couple years back—mine felt off for months, not just weeks. Saltwater rinses did nothing for me, unfortunately. I ended up going back in, and turns out there was still some infection lingering around the root tip. They had to redo part of it again (ugh), but after that, things finally settled down.

Not saying that's what's happening with yours, but sometimes it's worth getting a second opinion if things don't feel right after a while. Teeth can be slow healers, sure...but persistent discomfort might mean something else is going on. Hope yours resolves quicker than mine did!
