I totally get the logic behind spacing visits out more, especially if you're good with retainers. But honestly, as someone who's pretty anxious about dental stuff, I stuck to regular check-ups every year just for peace of mind. A friend of mine went almost three years without a follow-up and ended up with some shifting that wasn't noticeable at first but became obvious later on. Nothing major, but enough to need adjustments. So yeah, unexpected stuff can happen even if you're careful... everyone's teeth seem to have their own agenda, lol.

Haha, couldn't have said it better myself. I was pretty chill about follow-ups at firstβthought retainers were like a "set it and forget it" kinda deal. Then one day I noticed a tiny gap creeping back in between my front teeth (ugh). Now I'm back to yearly check-ups just to keep things in line... literally. Teeth definitely have minds of their own, sneaky little things.
