Root canal retreatment: single visit or split into two?

Splitting it up made a huge difference for me, too. I get that dread just knowing there’s more work coming, but the break between appointments helped me not feel so overwhelmed. Honestly, the anticipation is sometimes worse than the drilling. I do think trust in your dentist matters a ton—mine actually talks me through everything, which weirdly helps, even if I still flinch at the numbing shot. For kids, though, I imagine it’s a whole other level of stress. The waiting room alone can be torture.

Not sure I totally agree that splitting it up is always better. For me, dragging it out over two visits just made the stress last longer—like ripping off a Band-Aid really slowly. I get what you mean about the dread, though.

That hits home, but honestly, once I’m in the chair, I’d rather just get it all over with. Maybe I’m just impatient, but fewer appointments = less anxiety for me.
