- I get what you mean about the timers and sensors being helpful, but I’m still not sure if they’re a must-have for every kid.
- My nephew actually brushes longer just because his electric brush makes noises and lights up—otherwise he’s done in like 20 seconds.
- On the other hand, my little cousin uses a manual one and her dentist says her teeth are great, so maybe it really is just about consistency.
- Do any of your kids actually complain about the vibrations or noise from electric brushes? I’ve heard some kids can’t stand it, which makes me wonder if it’s worth the hassle for everyone.
- Also, is it harder to get replacement heads or batteries? That seems like it could be a pain if you forget.

My kid actually hated the noise at first—he said it “buzzed his brain” lol. He got used to it after a week, but I can see how some kids just won’t vibe with it. The battery thing is real though...I’ve totally forgotten to buy replacements and had to do the old manual brush scramble. Does anyone else notice the electric ones needing more cleaning too? All that gunk builds up around the head if you’re not careful.

The gunk build-up is so real—sometimes I feel like I spend more time cleaning the brush than actually brushing my kid’s teeth. I totally get what your kid meant about the buzzing, too. Mine was super freaked out by it at first, but now she’s all about the “robot brush.” I still keep a manual on standby for those days when the battery dies mid-brush...which is always when I’m running late. Honestly, I don’t think there’s a perfect answer, just whatever keeps the peace and the cavities away.
