I totally relate to the “apps and charts are fun for a minute” thing. We tried one of those brushing apps with my youngest, and it was all excitement for about five days... then she just wanted her tablet time without the brushing part. What actually stuck was us brushing together, same time every night, no big production. I think the novelty of apps wears off fast unless you’re super into gamifying everything, but honestly, making it part of the routine just feels easier on everyone.

That’s been my experience too. Tried sticker charts with my grandkids, and they lost interest pretty quick. What really worked was just brushing together, chatting a bit, making it a regular thing. Kids seem to like the attention more than any app or chart. Honestly, all those gadgets are fun for a bit, but nothing beats the old-fashioned way.
