Took my daughter to her first dentist appointment yesterday, and she was super anxious. Brought along this cute little stuffed bunny that supposedly helps calm nerves... seemed to help a bit, but still some tears. Curious if others had luck with comfort items?

My mom used to bring along this little stuffed elephant named Ellie whenever I had dentist appointments as a kid. Honestly, I was terrified of the dentist chair—something about the bright lights and weird noises just freaked me out. Ellie didn't magically erase my anxiety, but having something familiar to squeeze definitely helped me feel less alone. One thing that worked even better for me was when my mom started reading me a special "dentist book" at home before appointments. It was just a simple story about a kid going to the dentist, nothing fancy, but it made the whole experience seem less scary and more predictable. Maybe pairing your daughter's bunny with a comforting story or book could help ease her nerves even more next time? Either way, sounds like you're doing great already... first visits are always tough!
