I've been wondering about this too, actually. I switched to fluoride-free toothpaste last month (mostly out of curiosity and a bit of paranoia, lol), but now I'm second-guessing myself. My teeth feel fine so far, but every little twinge makes me think, "uh-oh, did I mess up?" 😅 Maybe you're right about genetics or diet playing a bigger role...still, can't help worrying I'm secretly sabotaging my teeth. Guess I'll just keep nervously brushing and see how it goes!

I've been going back and forth on this myself lately. I mean, fluoride's supposed to strengthen enamel and prevent cavities, right? So logically, skipping it might leave teeth vulnerable... but then again, people managed fine without fluoride toothpaste for ages. Honestly, I'm not even sure how much of a difference it makes if you're already careful with brushing technique and diet.

Have you noticed any changes in tooth sensitivity since switching? I've read some anecdotes about fluoride-free toothpaste causing sensitivity issues over time, but maybe that's just individual variation. Or maybe it's psychological...you know, the moment you switch products, you suddenly notice every little sensation that was probably there before anyway. Happens to me every time I try something new—instant paranoia.

Anyway, I'm still on the fence about it myself and haven't made the switch yet. Curious to hear if anyone else has long-term experiences.

I've been using fluoride-free toothpaste for about two years now, and personally haven't noticed any major sensitivity issues. At first, I was hyper-aware of every little sensation, like you mentioned—probably just psychological. Honestly though, as long as you're brushing thoroughly and watching your sugar intake, it seems fine. But everyone's teeth are different, so maybe try alternating at first to see how your mouth adjusts before fully committing? Just my two cents!

I've actually noticed the opposite—my teeth got noticeably more sensitive after switching to fluoride-free. Could just be me, but I ended up alternating back to regular toothpaste a couple times a week, and that seemed to balance things out pretty well... everyone's mileage varies, I guess.

Did you notice the sensitivity right away, or did it take a while to kick in? I've been thinking about switching to fluoride-free myself, but now I'm wondering if alternating might be the smarter move. Did your dentist have any thoughts on this? I'm always a bit paranoid about messing with dental stuff... cavities aren't exactly fun.
