Getting braces tomorrow and kinda nervous, ngl. My friend said chapstick is a lifesaver cuz your lips get super dry from holding your mouth open forever. Also heard painkillers are good to have handy for after. I'm thinking headphones too, to drown out the drilling noises (ugh). Anyone else got tips or things you wish you'd brought along?

Chapstick's def a good call, lips get annoyingly dry. Headphones help too, but tbh drilling isn't as loud as you think...it's more the awkwardness. Maybe bring a water bottle for after—mouth feels kinda weird and dry afterward. Did anyone mention soft snacks yet?

Totally agree with this. Staying hydrated helps a ton, especially since your mouth might feel a bit strange at first. Soft snacks are great too, but I'd suggest something like yogurt or applesauce rather than anything chewy—even soft granola bars can be sneaky and get stuck in brackets (trust me, been there). Also, maybe bring some ibuprofen just in case...the soreness can creep up on you later in the day. Good luck tomorrow, you've got this!

Definitely second the ibuprofen suggestion—it's a lifesaver when the soreness kicks in later. Water bottle's a must too, but honestly, I'd skip snacks altogether right after getting braces on. Your mouth might feel awkward, and eating could be more hassle than it's worth at first. Maybe just wait till you're home and comfortable before tackling food...trust me, you'll thank yourself later. Good luck tomorrow, it'll be fine once you get used to it!

Chapstick is def a must—dry lips are no joke. Ibuprofen saved me too, but honestly, bring a mirror or use your phone cam after. Nothing beats the first awkward selfie with braces...instant classic, trust me.
