Honestly, I was skeptical about using stuff like saltwater rinses and oil pulling, but after a few months, my gums stopped bleeding when I brushed. Never thought something so simple would work. Anyone else had luck with non-traditional approaches?

I totally get where you’re coming from—my sister swears by oil pulling and keeps telling me to try it. I did saltwater rinses for a while after a wisdom tooth extraction, and it definitely helped with soreness, but I’m still a little on the fence about skipping regular dental stuff. I tried going “all natural” for a bit and honestly, my gums got worse until I added flossing back in. Maybe it’s just different for everyone… kinda wish there was a magic fix, though.

I’ve always wondered if oil pulling actually does anything or if it’s just one of those trends that sounds cool. I tried it for like a week but couldn’t get past the texture—felt weird swishing oil around my mouth that long. Saltwater rinses made sense to me after dental work, but I still can’t imagine skipping flossing. My dentist basically guilt-tripped me into sticking with the basics. Anyone else feel like “natural” fixes are hit or miss?

I get what you mean about oil pulling—the texture totally threw me off, too. I actually stuck it out for a couple weeks and didn’t notice much difference, honestly. Saltwater rinses after wisdom teeth made everything feel cleaner, but nothing really beats regular flossing for me. I’m all for natural stuff when it works, but sometimes it feels more like wishful thinking than science.

I totally relate to the wishful thinking thing—there’s so much out there it’s hard to know what actually helps. For me, saltwater rinses after flossing seemed to calm down my gums, but I still needed a hygienist cleaning to really see lasting change. Maybe it’s a combo of both? I’m still figuring it out.
