We ran into a similar situation with my daughter last year. The dentist was really pushing for an implant after her accident, but we wanted to wait and see if a bridge might be enough. Turns out, the orthodontist said in younger patients, sometimes a temporary solution makes more sense until they’re older. I get the urge to act fast, but sometimes waiting isn’t as risky as it sounds—especially for kids. There’s just so much pressure to decide right away, and the price tags don’t help.
I get the whole “wait and see” thing, but honestly, sometimes waiting can backfire too. I’ve seen cases where a missing tooth messes with bone growth or the kid’s bite shifts while everyone’s hoping it’ll be fine. It’s tricky, especially if you’re worried about costs or future surgeries...but every case is different, right?

Totally get what you mean here. Waiting felt like the “safe” option when my nephew lost a front tooth early, but his bite started shifting and it got way more complicated (and expensive) to fix later. I know every mouth is different, but sometimes jumping in sooner saves a lot of headache down the road... I wish we’d known that before. Cost is scary, but so is fixing a bigger problem later.
I’ve been on both sides of this—my parents waited with my younger brother, thinking his teeth would just “work themselves out.” Spoiler: they didn’t. His bite shifted and he ended up needing braces and some weird little spacer thing. Honestly, I get why people want to wait (who wants to shell out $$$ if you don’t have to?), but in our case, early intervention would’ve saved a ton of hassle. Sometimes you gotta bite the bullet—pun intended.
