- Been there, felt that. The “are we done yet?” feeling is real.
- In my case, I did end up needing a couple extra aligners, but—plot twist—my doc didn’t charge more since it was part of the original plan. Worth double-checking with your provider though, since some do tack on fees for extra trays.
- Progress scans are super helpful for peace of mind (and to keep you from going full detective in the mirror every day).
- If you’re not seeing movement, sometimes it’s just your stubborn teeth doing their thing. Mine took their sweet time, but eventually got in line.
- Hang in there... slow teeth are still moving teeth.

Honestly, “tweaks” can feel like they drag on forever, but that’s pretty normal. Teeth don’t always cooperate on our timeline. I’ve seen plenty of people get frustrated with slow progress, only for things to suddenly shift in the last few trays. Have you noticed any soreness or pressure lately? That’s usually a good sign things are still moving, even if it’s subtle. Progress scans can be reassuring, but sometimes just trusting the process is half the battle.

Yeah, the tweaks stage really tested my patience. I remember thinking nothing was happening for weeks, then suddenly one tooth just snapped into place overnight. It’s weird how it goes in fits and starts. I still get random soreness sometimes, so I guess that means things are shifting, even if it’s slow.

Tweaks stage is like waiting for paint to dry, but with bonus tooth soreness, right? I swear my teeth were just chillin’ for ages, then suddenly one day—bam—my stubborn canine finally budged. I get those random aches too. Sometimes it’s a dull throb, sometimes it’s like my teeth are gossiping about me behind my gums. Hang in there... the weird fits and starts seem to be totally normal. If you’re still sore, I found switching up which side I chew on helped a bit (and soft foods became my best friend for a while).

That “gossiping behind my gums” feeling is weirdly accurate. I’ve noticed the pressure seems to shift around, like one tooth will ache for a week, then it just stops and another one picks up? Did you notice if your soreness got worse right after switching to new trays, or was it just random? I’m still trying to figure out if there’s a pattern or if it’s just chaos.
