I'm a couple weeks out from jaw surgery and my orthodontist mentioned either sticking with traditional retainers or switching to clear aligners for the next phase. I'm kinda tornβ€”retainers seem more sturdy and reliable, but clear aligners sound way more comfy and convenient, especially since my mouth is still pretty sensitive. Has anyone here tried both after surgery? Curious about comfort, effectiveness, and just overall ease of use...would love some real-life experiences to help me decide.

Clear aligners can definitely feel gentler initially, but I've seen cases where traditional retainers provided more precise stability post-surgery. Have you asked your ortho about long-term effectiveness specifically for your case?
