"NutriBullet's great for smoothies, but blending hot stuff in it always felt sketchy to me... like the pressure buildup or something?"
I had the exact same concern about blending hot liquids in my NutriBullet. After my jaw surgery, I tried it once and ended up with soup splattered all over my kitchen—lesson learned the hard way. Switched to an immersion blender after that, and it was a game changer. Also, seconding your cocoa powder tip; adding cinnamon to banana-PB smoothies helped me feel less deprived during recovery.
Yikes, hot liquids in a NutriBullet always made me nervous too. I've seen more than one patient come in with burns from blender mishaps after surgery—definitely not worth the risk. Immersion blenders are way safer for soups and stuff like that. Glad you found a workaround, though...and cinnamon with banana-PB smoothies sounds amazing, might have to try that myself sometime. Hang in there, recovery gets easier!

Wish I'd read this sooner... I had a mini panic attack last night when my NutriBullet started leaking hot soup everywhere. Lesson learned. Also, cinnamon in smoothies sounds interesting—does it blend smoothly or stay gritty?
"Also, cinnamon in smoothies sounds interesting—does it blend smoothly or stay gritty?"
It blends pretty smoothly if you don't go overboard. I've found that using ground cinnamon sparingly and blending it with something creamy like banana or yogurt helps a lot. Have you tried nutmeg too? It adds a nice warmth without the gritty texture. Hang in there...the liquid diet phase feels endless at first, but you'll be back to chewing before you know it.

Nutmeg's nice, but honestly, I found cinnamon easier to blend smoothly—nutmeg always seemed to leave tiny gritty bits no matter how long I blended. Maybe it's just my blender though... Anyway, if you're worried about texture, try cinnamon extract instead of ground cinnamon. It's concentrated, blends perfectly, and you won't have to worry about any grit at all. Liquid diets are tough enough without dealing with weird textures, trust me.
