my dentist warned me vaping could mess up my smile, but I didn't think much of it until yesterday.

Minty vape flavors always irritated my gums too, you're definitely not alone there. My dentist said something about certain flavorings or ingredients causing sensitivity for some people—guess it's just luck of the draw. Switching up flavors helped me a lot, so maybe try experimenting with something milder? Hopefully your gums stop throwing tantrums soon...hang in there!

Minty flavors can definitely trigger sensitivity, but honestly, it's not just about flavorings. Vaping itself tends to dry out your mouth, and a dry mouth can make gums more prone to irritation or inflammation. I've seen patients who switched flavors and still had issues because the dryness was the real culprit. Maybe try upping your water intake or chewing sugar-free gum after vaping to stimulate saliva flow...could help ease things up a bit. Worth a shot, anyway.

I've been wondering about this too. I mean, sure, dryness makes sense, but could it also be the heat from vaping that's causing irritation or sensitivity? Sometimes after vaping, my gums feel kind of tender or raw—not just dry. Drinking water helps a bit, but I'm not convinced it's enough. Maybe there's more going on here than just dehydration and flavors... has anyone else noticed heat being a factor?

Yeah, I've noticed this too. I always assumed it was mostly dryness, but now that you mention it, heat could definitely be a factor. My dentist once explained how heat exposure can irritate gum tissue over time—it's similar to sipping drinks that are too hot repeatedly. Switching to lower wattage or cooler settings helped ease my discomfort quite a bit... something worth trying maybe?

I've heard the heat theory before, but honestly, I think it might be more about the ingredients in the vape juice itself. Some flavors or additives can irritate sensitive gum tissue, especially if you're vaping frequently. I noticed when I switched to a simpler, less sweetened juice, my gums felt way better—even without changing wattage or temperature settings. Might be worth experimenting with different liquids to see if that helps more than adjusting heat alone...
