Totally relate to what you're saying about the fruity flavors being harsher. My son had a similar experienceβhe complained about mouth irritation, and at first we thought it was allergies or something random. Took us a while to connect the dots, but eventually figured out it was vaping-related. Our dentist mentioned that some flavorings can be especially irritating because of the chemicals used to create them.
We also tried the xylitol gum trick, and it did help him a bit, but honestly, cutting back on vaping made the biggest difference. Easier said than done though...I get anxious just thinking about how hard it is for teens to step away from something their friends are doing regularly. It's reassuring to hear other parents dealing with this tooβmakes me feel less alone in worrying about all this stuff.
Anyway, glad things improved for your daughter. Hopefully more awareness around these issues will help our kids make better choices down the road...fingers crossed.

Yeah, our dentist said something similarβmentioned certain flavors being worse than others. Did yours suggest any specific flavors to avoid, or was it more general advice? Curious if there's a pattern here...
My dentist actually got pretty specific about thisβhe mentioned cinnamon and citrus flavors being particularly harsh. Apparently, the chemicals used to create those flavors can be extra irritating to gums and soft tissues. I remember him jokingly saying something like, "If it tastes like candy or dessert, your gums probably won't thank you later." 😂
Honestly though, it makes sense. Cinnamon gum always made my mouth feel weirdly sensitive, so I imagine vaping cinnamon flavor would be even worse. Citrus surprised me a bit at first, but then again, acidic stuff isn't exactly known for being gentle on teeth either...

Seems like dentists are onto something here. Maybe it's worth paying attention to how your mouth feels after different flavors? Could help pinpoint what's causing issues before they get serious.
Interesting, I never thought about flavorings being a factor... I've noticed some sensitivity lately after vaping mint flavors. Has anyone else experienced issues specifically with mint or menthol flavors? Wondering if they're harsh too.
Mint flavors always seem refreshing at first, but I've noticed they're sneakily harsh on gums and teeth. I don't vape, but even minty toothpaste sometimes makes my teeth feel extra sensitive, especially if I brush too hard or too often. Maybe it's something similar with vaping? Could be worth trying a milder flavor for a bit to see if the sensitivity eases up... just a thought.
