I know this might sound kinda weird or embarrassing, but lately when I'm going through a rough patch mentally, I just can't seem to get myself to brush my teeth regularly. Like, I know it's important and all, but some days it feels like climbing a mountain just to pick up the toothbrush, you know? Has anyone else dealt with this kinda thing or found ways to make it easier?

Totally get where you're coming from, but maybe it's less about motivation and more about routine? Like, when I'm feeling down, motivation never really works for me either. Instead, I try to make brushing teeth part of something else I already do without thinking—like showering or grabbing a glass of water before bed. That way it feels less like an extra task and more automatic... might be worth a shot?

Routine definitely helps, but honestly, sometimes you just gotta trick yourself into it. Like, I keep a toothbrush by the couch—sounds weird, but Netflix and brush is my new thing. Lazy? Maybe. Effective? Surprisingly yes...

Haha, Netflix and brush...that's a new one for me. But hey, whatever works, right? I used to have a similar struggle, especially on those days when getting out of bed felt like climbing Everest. My trick was keeping a toothbrush in the shower—sounds kinda odd too, but hear me out. I'd hop in for a quick rinse (or sometimes just stand there zoning out under hot water), and since the toothbrush was already staring at me from the shelf, it felt easier to just grab it and brush while spacing out.

Honestly though, I think it's less about laziness and more about finding those little hacks that make self-care feel less overwhelming. If brushing teeth on the couch or in the shower helps you get through tough days, then that's a win in my book. We all gotta find our own weird little routines to keep going...no judgment here!

Keeping a toothbrush in the shower is actually a pretty clever idea. I've found that sometimes just changing the environment or routine slightly can make a big difference. Another thing that's helped me personally is using an electric toothbrush—somehow it feels less daunting when the brush does most of the work for you. Small adjustments like these can really ease the mental load, especially during tougher days.
