I had a root canal done about two years ago, and lately I've been feeling some weird sensitivity in that tooth again. It's not exactly pain, but kinda like a dull ache or pressure when I bite down sometimes. I'm getting paranoid that maybe the root canal is failing or something. Has anyone else had this happen after a couple years? Did you do anything special to keep it from getting worse or needing more work later on?

My daughter had something similar happen about three years after her root canal. Turned out it was just inflammation from grinding her teeth at night. A simple night guard helped—might be worth checking into before worrying too much.

Grinding could definitely be a factor, but have you considered it might also be related to your bite alignment? Sometimes after a root canal, the tooth can sit slightly higher or differently, causing that dull ache when chewing. Happened to me once—dentist adjusted my bite just a tiny bit and the pressure feeling went away pretty quickly. Might be worth asking about before investing in a night guard...
