Hey guys, had a root canal done about two weeks ago on one of my back molars and it's still feeling pretty sensitive. Like, drinking anything cold or even just brushing around that area makes me cringe a bit. I thought the whole point of the procedure was to get rid of pain and sensitivity, you know? The dentist said it might feel weird for a few days, but we're going on two weeks now and it's starting to worry me.
Has anyone else experienced this kind of lingering sensitivity after a root canal? Did it eventually calm down on its own, or did you have to go back in for more work? I'm really hoping I don't have to go through another appointment...ugh. Any tips or home remedies that helped ease the discomfort would be appreciated.

Had something similar happen to me a while back—took about three weeks before it fully settled down. Dentist mentioned sometimes inflammation can linger longer than expected. I'd give it another week or so, but if it doesn't ease up, probably best to have it checked again.
I had a root canal done last month and was pretty worried when it stayed sensitive for longer than I expected. It wasn't super painful, just annoying enough to keep me on edge. I tried rinsing gently with warm salt water a couple times a day, and weirdly enough, it seemed to help calm things down. My dentist also said lingering inflammation is common, but honestly, waiting it out was nerve-wracking.

Glad I'm not the only one who experienced this...still, if it drags on much longer, I'd probably call again just for peace of mind.
