For me, consistency seemed to matter more than timing, honestly.

Funny, I actually noticed a bit of a difference when I switched up the timing.
- Tried water flossing before brushing for a week—felt like less gunk in my mouth after.
- When I did it after brushing, my gums sometimes felt a little sore (maybe overdoing it?).
- Could be just me, but pre-brush seems gentler.

About the kid flossers—totally agree, they’re way easier to handle. I started with those soft-pick things but never liked the texture. The kid ones are weirdly perfect for adult hands too... who knew?

I totally relate to that “less gunk” feeling when you water floss before brushing. I actually tried switching the order after reading a bunch of posts, and honestly, it just made me second-guess everything. My gums got a bit sensitive too—maybe I was just being extra thorough? It’s kind of reassuring to hear someone else had the same thing happen. Sometimes I wonder if there’s even a “right” way or if it’s all about what feels best for your own mouth.

And yes to the kid flossers. I felt kind of silly picking them up at first, but they’re so much easier to use than those weird rubbery picks. My dentist said as long as I’m getting between the teeth, it doesn’t matter what tool I use. That helped calm me down a bit. I still get anxious about doing it “wrong,” but hearing other people’s routines makes it seem less intimidating. If my teeth finally stop wiggling, I’ll call that a win, even if my technique isn’t perfect.
