Took me a couple months, but I can actually eat pizza again without wanting to rip my braces off. Chewing used to be a nightmare, especially with stuff like crust, but I started cutting things into tiny pieces and it’s made a huge difference. Also, wax is my new best friend. Anyone else have a food they finally “conquered” after getting braces? Or maybe some weird trick that made things easier?

Pizza was brutal for me too, especially that chewy crust. I totally get where you’re coming from—there were days I honestly thought about just eating soup forever. Cutting things up small is such a game changer, though. For me, apples were the big “win.” I used to miss biting into them, but now I just slice them super thin and it’s way less scary. Also, yes to wax...I never knew how much I’d rely on it. You’re not alone in this—little victories like these really help.

Cutting things smaller really does make a difference, doesn’t it? I used to dread anything with a tough crust—pizza nights felt more stressful than fun. Those thin apple slices are genius. Wax is such an unsung hero too... I never thought I’d be so grateful for it. Little adjustments like these really do add up over time.

It’s wild how just slicing things up a bit more can totally change the whole eating experience. I used to think it was kind of silly to cut pizza into smaller bites, but after a few battles with tough crust and sore teeth, I’m a full convert. Wax is a game-changer too—people really don’t talk about it enough. I remember thinking it was only for braces, but I use it on a regular basis now for random pokey bits or sharp edges.

Honestly, those little tweaks you mentioned make a huge difference in quality of life—especially on the tough days when eating feels like a chore. It’s not always about making massive changes overnight, just those small, smart adjustments. And yeah, thin apple slices... whoever started that trend deserves a medal. I still struggle sometimes with certain foods, but figuring out what works for you is half the battle. Glad you found some tricks that help—makes pizza night way less intimidating, right?

Cutting apples into thin slices was a game changer for me too, but honestly, I still can’t handle bagels without some regret. Wax is underrated—my ortho barely mentioned it, but it’s saved me from so many mouth ulcers. Anyone else still avoiding popcorn?
