Mashed sweet potatoes were my comfort food too, especially with a bit of butter melted in. Weirdly enough, scrambled eggs were also pretty gentle on my teeth—just had to make sure they weren't too hot. Cold stuff was tricky at first, but lukewarm smoothies helped ease me into it...
Mashed sweet potatoes do sound pretty comforting, but I'd actually be cautious with smoothies—even lukewarm ones. They're great nutritionally, sure, but the acidity in certain fruits (like berries or citrus) can sometimes irritate sensitive teeth more than you'd expect. If smoothies are your thing, maybe try blending milder ingredients—think bananas, avocado, or oatmeal—to give your teeth a gentle break. Just something to keep an eye on... everyone's mouth reacts a bit differently.
Smoothies can definitely be tricky, but honestly, I've seen a lot of patients do fine with berries if they're balanced out right. Like, mixing in yogurt or almond milk can really cut down on acidity. I mean, bananas and avocado are great too, but sometimes you just want that berry flavor, ya know? Maybe it's more about proportions and what you pair them with rather than avoiding certain fruits altogether... everyone's teeth sensitivity is so individual anyway.
I've found that adding a spoonful of peanut butter or oats helps a lot too. Seems to mellow out the acidity without losing the berry flavor. Plus, oats are cheap and filling—good if you're on a budget. Sensitivity is definitely personal though... took me a while to figure out what worked for me without spending a fortune on special products.

Yeah, totally agree with this. Took us ages to find something that didn't trigger my son's teeth pain. Oats helped, but weirdly enough, bananas were a lifesaver too—cheap and gentle. Guess every mouth really is different...
