I get where you’re coming from, but honestly, I think the whole “not too cold” thing is a bit overrated. I’ve always just used the gel pack straight from the freezer—wrapped in a thin paper towel at most—and it’s been the only thing that actually numbs the throbbing for me. If I let it warm up too much, it barely does anything. Maybe it’s just my pain tolerance, but I’d rather risk a little skin redness than deal with that deep ache. Guess everyone’s face reacts differently...
