Yeah, I've noticed that too—sometimes the students are even more careful than seasoned pros, just because they’re double-checking everything. Do you think that extra caution makes a difference in cosmetic procedures, like veneers or whitening? I always wonder if the slower pace is better for tricky stuff, or if experience counts more in those cases. Anyone ever had a cosmetic treatment done at a school clinic? Curious how it turned out.

Honestly, I think there's a real tradeoff. That extra caution students have can be a good thing, especially with cosmetic stuff where detail matters. But, in my experience, skill from repetition counts for a lot too. I tried whitening at a dental school once—took way longer than a regular office, but they were super meticulous and double-checked everything. My teeth looked great, but if you’re in a hurry or want someone who’s seen every possible complication, experience might edge out caution. Still, I’d trust students for whitening or even simple veneers, as long as there’s a supervising dentist involved.

I’m with you on trusting dental students for cosmetic stuff if there’s a supervisor. Honestly, the price difference is huge, and I’d rather save some cash even if it takes longer. My whitening at the school clinic turned out just fine—just needed a bit more patience.

Couldn’t agree more. Dental schools are such a hidden gem for stuff like whitening or even cleanings. The extra time’s a small trade-off for the savings, and those students are really careful since they know someone’s double-checking their work. I had a filling done at a school clinic once—took a bit longer, but the results were solid. Sometimes patience pays off, literally.

Totally get where you’re coming from. I used to feel weird about the idea of students working on my teeth, but after a whitening session at the dental school, I was actually impressed. They were super gentle, and my teeth looked great. Plus, like you said, the savings are real. It’s nice not to feel rushed, too—sometimes that extra care makes all the difference.
