Yeah, definitely agree with this. Sensitivity was pretty rough for me in the first couple weeks, especially with cold drinks or even biting into softer foods like sandwiches. I remember being a bit worried it would stay that way forever, haha... Thankfully, after about a month or so, things really started to calm down. I think it's partly your teeth adjusting and partly your mouth just getting used to having braces in there.

One thing that helped me early on was using toothpaste specifically designed for sensitive teeth—it made a noticeable difference in how comfortable eating and drinking felt. Also, rinsing with lukewarm water instead of super cold water helped too. Little things like that can make the adjustment period a bit more manageable.

Now I'm several months in, and honestly, I barely notice any sensitivity at all—can even handle ice cream again without cringing (thank goodness). So yeah, hang in there... it definitely gets better over time.

I totally relate to the sensitivity thing—mine was pretty intense at first too. I remember trying to bite into a banana and thinking, "seriously, even this hurts?" 😂 Thankfully, it eased up after a few weeks. Good tip about the sensitive toothpaste, wish I'd known that earlier. Curious though, did anyone find monthly payments easier to manage budget-wise, or did paying upfront save enough to make the initial pinch worth it? Still debating which route to take myself...

I'm still on the fence about this too. Honestly, the idea of paying upfront freaks me out a bit—it's a big chunk of money to part with all at once, and what if something unexpected comes up later? On the other hand, monthly payments feel less scary, but then I worry about being locked into another monthly bill for ages. A friend of mine went the upfront route because the discount was pretty decent, and she said it felt great not having to think about it anymore. But personally, I lean toward monthly payments just for peace of mind, even if it costs a bit more overall. I guess it depends how tight your budget is month-to-month and how much you value that immediate relief. Did anyone else find themselves regretting whichever option they chose later on?

Totally understandable. When I got braces, I went monthly because it was easier to manage alongside other expenses. Sure, upfront can save you some cash overall, but peace of mind counts for a lot too. No regrets here—the payments were manageable, and it didn't feel overwhelming. Just make sure the monthly terms are clear and doable for your budget...then you'll be fine either way.

Yeah, I get the hesitation with paying upfront. When my sister got braces, our parents paid upfront and saved a bit overall, but it did feel like a huge hit to the wallet at the time. Honestly, I'm leaning toward monthly payments myself just because it's easier to plan around other unexpected expenses that pop up (car troubles always seem to find me at the worst times...).

One thing I'm wondering though—does going monthly usually affect how flexible they are if you need adjustments or extra visits down the line? Like, do orthodontists tend to be more accommodating if you've already paid everything upfront? Or does it not really matter either way? Just curious if anyone has experience with how payment choice might affect the actual treatment process.
