I've been noticing that weird minty-off taste too, but I haven't tried hydrogen peroxide yet. Interesting idea though...does it ever leave your aligners feeling brittle or anything? I've heard mixed things about peroxide and plastics, so I've been hesitant to try it myself. Right now, I'm just rinsing mine under warm water and brushing gently with a soft toothbrush and a tiny bit of clear soap. Seems to do the trick, but I'm always wondering if that's enough to keep bacteria away. I mean, I haven't had any issues yet either, but like you saidβbetter safe than sorry. Has anyone else noticed their aligners getting cloudy over time, even with regular cleaning? Wondering if that's normal wear or if I'm missing something in my routine.
I've actually tried peroxide before, and while it didn't make my aligners brittle or anything, I did notice they seemed to get cloudy faster afterward. Not sure if that was coincidence or not, but it made me switch things up. Now I just soak mine in diluted white vinegar once a weekβit sounds weird, but it really helps with the cloudiness and keeps them feeling fresh. Might be worth a shot if you're hesitant about peroxide...
