"Even seedless ones sometimes had tougher skins that irritated the biopsy site."

Yeah, I was wondering about grapes myself—aren't the skins supposed to be good for you normally? But I can totally see how they'd be a pain after something like a biopsy. I've been trying to figure out what fruits would be both gentle and budget-friendly, since peaches and pears can get pricey around here, especially out of season. Did you find canned fruits helpful at all, or was the syrupy stuff too sugary or irritating?

I ended up going with bananas quite a bit. They're cheap, soft, and easy to mash up if needed. Plus, freezing banana slices made a nice cool snack that seemed to soothe things a bit. Applesauce was another go-to, but honestly, I got bored of it pretty quickly. Did anyone else try smoothies? I thought they'd be ideal, but sometimes the acidity from berries or citrus fruits felt a little harsh. Maybe I was just blending the wrong combos...

Also, curious if anyone found certain veggies helpful? I tried cooked carrots and sweet potatoes mashed up—pretty gentle and affordable. Though, I admit, after a few days, I was craving something crunchy again. How long did it take before you felt comfortable eating more textured foods again?

Glad to hear you're feeling better, by the way. Mouth biopsies are no joke, and it's interesting how differently everyone heals and copes.

I agree about smoothies—seemed like they'd be perfect, but the acidity was definitely an issue for me too. I found blending bananas with avocado and a bit of almond milk helped tone things down. Also, canned peaches in juice (not syrup) were gentle enough without being overly sweet. Took me about a week before I dared to try anything crunchy again...even then, I started cautiously with soft crackers. Glad you're on the mend; healing can feel painfully slow sometimes.

Smoothies are great, but honestly, sometimes the cold temperature itself can irritate sensitive healing tissue. Room-temp soups or lukewarm oatmeal worked better for some of my patients. But hey, whatever gets you through—healing mouths are picky little divas sometimes...

Totally agree about the lukewarm oatmeal—saved me after my biopsy. Smoothies sounded great at first, but the cold was just too much for me too. I ended up sticking mostly to room-temp mashed potatoes and scrambled eggs (soft and easy to swallow). Honestly, it felt like my mouth had a mind of its own...one day something worked fine, next day it was a no-go. You're right about mouths being picky divas, haha.

Hang in there though, healing can feel slow but you'll get through it. Just listen to your body and don't push yourself too hard. Before you know it, you'll be back to eating all your favorites again.

Haha, this is exactly how it was for me too. One day lukewarm soup was perfect, next day it felt like sandpaper. Hang in there, it does get better...just takes patience and lots of trial and error.
