I did pretty much the same thing—just chilled regular black tea bags in the freezer for about 10-15 mins. Chamomile sounds nice, but honestly, regular tea worked fine for me (and it's cheaper, too). The tannins in black tea supposedly help with swelling and healing, and I found it really soothing after my biopsy. Just make sure you don't leave them in too long...I accidentally froze one solid once, and trust me, that's not comfy on a sore mouth. Also, rinsing gently with salt water afterward helped speed things up a bit. Nothing fancy needed, just practical stuff from the pantry usually does the trick.
I tried the tea bag trick too, but honestly, I was a bit nervous about the freezer part. Ended up just chilling mine in the fridge instead—less risk of freezing solid, haha. Salt water rinses helped me most, though. Did them gently a few times a day, and it seemed to keep things clean and healing nicely. Still took longer than I expected, but at least it didn't hurt as much after the first couple days...
I totally get the freezer anxiety—I skipped that part altogether because I was worried about accidentally hurting myself more. Salt water rinses were great for me too, but honestly, what helped most was sticking to soft foods longer than I thought I'd need to. I rushed into crunchy snacks too soon and regretted it immediately. Maybe give yourself an extra few days of smoothies and yogurt just to be safe... healing always seems slower than expected!
"healing always seems slower than expected!"
Haha, isn't that the truth? When I had mine done, I underestimated the whole soft-food thing too. Thought I'd be fine with pasta after a couple days—big mistake. Even cooked noodles felt uncomfortable at first. One thing that really helped me was sipping lukewarm chamomile tea. It seemed to soothe everything and kept swelling down a bit. Might be worth trying if you're getting impatient like I was... Hang in there, it does get better!

Ugh, totally relate to this. I thought scrambled eggs would be a safe choice—nope, even that felt kinda scratchy at first. Honestly, I got pretty anxious thinking something was wrong because healing seemed so slow. Chamomile tea sounds soothing though, wish I'd thought of that earlier. I ended up sticking mostly to smoothies and yogurt for longer than planned... patience definitely isn't my strong suit, haha. Hope things ease up for you soon!
