Interesting how different foods affect people differently. For me, lukewarm scrambled eggs turned out to be the real lifesaver—soft enough that chewing wasn't an issue, and mild enough not to irritate the biopsy spot. I tried soups too, but even creamy tomato felt a bit stingy at first (maybe the acidity?).
"Ended up relying more on lukewarm oatmeal and mashed potatoes... comfort foods FTW."
Comfort foods definitely helped emotionally too. Did anyone else find certain spices unexpectedly irritating? I had to ditch pepper altogether for a while, which was tough since I usually love it.

Totally agree about spices causing unexpected irritation. Pepper is a sneaky one—seems mild but can really sting sensitive areas. Did you notice cinnamon being problematic too? I've had patients mention that even a bit of cinnamon in oatmeal or applesauce felt uncomfortable at first. Bland foods definitely seem safest initially, and it's surprising how quickly something usually harmless can become irritating after a biopsy.
Interesting point about cinnamon—I hadn't really considered that one. My daughter had a mouth biopsy recently, and we were super cautious about spices in general, but cinnamon didn't seem to bother her at all. In fact, we added a tiny bit to her oatmeal to make it more appealing, and she didn't complain about any discomfort. Maybe it's one of those things that varies a lot from person to person?
I do agree about pepper though; even the smallest pinch seemed to cause some irritation. One thing I noticed that wasn't mentioned yet is temperature sensitivity. We initially assumed cold foods would be soothing, so we went for smoothies and chilled yogurts. Surprisingly, she found cold foods uncomfortable—they made her biopsy site feel tight or achy. Room temperature or slightly warm foods ended up being far more comfortable for her, especially soft pasta or mashed potatoes.
It's fascinating how different everyone's experience can be. Makes me wonder if there's a general guideline or if it's mostly trial and error. Did anyone else find cold foods problematic, or was that just us?
Weirdly enough, cold foods were actually a lifesaver for me after my biopsy. Warm stuff—even lukewarm—made the area feel swollen and uncomfortable. I practically lived off chilled applesauce and smoothies for a few days. Guess it really does depend on the person... or maybe even the exact spot of the biopsy? Seems like trial and error is pretty much unavoidable with this stuff.

Yeah, same here. After mine, I thought warm tea would soothe things, but nope—felt like it made everything puff up more. Ended up sticking to cold yogurt and even popsicles (haven't had those in years, haha). You're right though, it's definitely trial and error. Hang in there...it does get better pretty quick once you find what works for you.
