Haha, chia seeds are sneaky little devils, aren't they? I made a similar rookie mistake after my biopsy—thought I'd be safe with some oatmeal. Soft, bland, harmless oatmeal...right? Nope. Turns out even the tiniest oat flakes can feel like sandpaper on a fresh biopsy site. Who knew?

I second the almond milk thing though. Store-bought almond milk was surprisingly soothing for me too, probably because it's basically almond-flavored water at that point. Also, weirdly enough, room-temperature mashed potatoes became my best friend for a few days. Not exactly gourmet dining, but hey, comfort food is comfort food.

You're totally right about everyone healing differently. My dentist warned me about spicy foods, but I stubbornly thought mild salsa would be fine. Spoiler alert: it wasn't. Felt like I'd set my mouth on fire for hours afterward. Lesson learned...again.

Anyway, hang in there—soon enough you'll be back to eating whatever you want without second-guessing every bite.

Mashed potatoes were my go-to as well. I'd add scrambled eggs to the list too—just make sure they're cooled down first. I know it sounds gross, but lukewarm eggs are way easier on a tender spot than hot ones. Also, avoid carbonation like the plague...I learned that one the hard way when I thought soda would be a nice treat. It wasn't.

Did anyone else brave ice cream? Sounds great in theory, but trust me, brain freeze plus biopsy soreness is a combo you do NOT want to experience... Stick with the potatoes.

I feel you on the ice cream thing... I tried it myself after my biopsy thinking it'd soothe everything down, but nope—it was a total disaster. The cold made my mouth tense up so badly, and the soreness just amplified. Weirdly enough, lukewarm stuff worked way better for me—mashed potatoes were great, and also creamy soups like butternut squash or blended veggie soups (just not hot!). I found sipping fluids through a straw gently helped too; less direct contact with the sore spots. Honestly, I wish I'd known beforehand about avoiding extremes in temperature. It's one of those little details doctors don't always mention clearly. Hope you're feeling better soon... healing can be slow, but hang in there—it does get easier day by day.

I totally relate to the ice cream thing too... I made the same mistake after my biopsy, thinking cold stuff would numb everything and make it better. Nope, big mistake. It felt like my mouth went into shock mode or something, and I swear it hurt worse afterward. Lukewarm foods were definitely my friend—especially oatmeal with a little honey stirred in. It was soft enough not to irritate anything, and the mild sweetness actually helped distract me from the soreness.

One other thing that worked surprisingly well for me was rinsing gently with salt water (just barely warm). My dentist mentioned it casually, but it ended up being a lifesaver for soothing irritation and keeping things clean without harsh mouthwash burn.

You're right about doctors sometimes glossing over these little details. It's frustrating because knowing what to expect can really ease anxiety. Anyway, hang in there... every day really does get a tiny bit easier.
