I totally get the anxiety about dropping things—my hands stiffen up out of nowhere, and I’ve had more than one toothbrush go flying across the sink. I tried wrapping one with a washcloth and rubber bands, but it just kept unraveling, and honestly, it stressed me out more than it helped. Ended up getting a kids’ toothbrush with a big handle at first, which looked a bit silly but was easier to grip. Eventually switched to an electric one too... took me ages to justify the price, but my hands (and nerves) are grateful.

That’s funny, I tried the kids’ toothbrush route too—felt a little ridiculous at first, but it really did help. Did you notice any difference in how clean your teeth felt when you switched to electric? I keep worrying I’m missing spots because my grip gets weird. Also, do you ever get nervous the electric one will just slip out of your hand and launch across the bathroom? That’s happened to me once... toothpaste everywhere.

I totally get what you mean about feeling silly with the kids’ toothbrush—been there. The electric one made a big difference for me, honestly. My teeth felt cleaner, and it was less strain on my hands. I do still worry about dropping it sometimes... those handles get slippery if your grip isn’t great. But overall, it’s been worth the switch. You’re definitely not alone in this.

I get the slippery handle thing—those electric brushes can be a bit much if your grip isn’t steady. One thing that helped me was adding a rubber grip sleeve (like the ones for pens) to the handle. Makes it way easier to hold, especially when my fingers are stiff. There are also some brushes designed with chunkier handles that are easier to grab, if you haven’t tried those. For me, switching made brushing feel way less of a chore.

Honestly, I thought I was the only one wrestling with my toothbrush like it’s a wet fish. Those chunky handles are a lifesaver—especially with braces, when you’re already fighting wires and rubber bands. Haven’t tried the grip sleeve trick yet, but now I’m curious… Might finally stop launching my brush across the sink every morning.
