Totally get what you're saying about the reservoir size—nothing worse than running dry halfway through! I've been using a cordless one for my kiddo since our bathroom counter is already overflowing with stuff (seriously, who knew kids needed so many toothbrushes and cups??). It's actually been pretty solid, but yeah, the consistency isn't always perfect. Still, it's handy for travel or quick clean-ups after snacks. Maybe someday we'll upgrade to countertop if we ever reclaim some counter space...fingers crossed.

We've been using a countertop one for a while now, and honestly, it's been worth the counter space sacrifice. I totally get the clutter struggle though—our bathroom looks like a toothbrush convention exploded. Maybe try a compact countertop model if you ever upgrade...they're usually cheaper and still hold plenty of water.

Interesting point, but have you considered portability? Countertop models—compact or not—still tether you to one spot. I've found cordless models offer more flexibility, especially for people who travel often or have limited bathroom outlets. Granted, they might need refilling more frequently, but the convenience factor can outweigh that minor inconvenience. Have you tried a cordless one before settling on countertop? Would be curious about your experience.

Good points here. I've actually tried both types, and while I totally get the portability appeal of cordless, I ended up sticking with countertop. For me, the bigger water reservoir was a game changer—I hated refilling mid-floss, especially when I was in a hurry. But you're right, cordless models are fantastic for travel. I actually keep a cordless one tucked away just for trips or weekend visits to family.

One thing I noticed though...my cordless model seems to lose battery life quicker than I'd like. Have you found battery life to be an issue with yours, or did I just get unlucky with my model?

I've noticed the same thing with my cordless model. At first, I thought maybe I'd gotten a dud, but after chatting with a few friends, it seems pretty common. Mine started off holding a charge for almost a week, but now I'm lucky if it lasts three days. It's not terrible, just mildly annoying...especially when traveling and forgetting the charger (been there!). Still, like you said, it's hard to beat the convenience factor for short trips.
