Haha, your cordless Waterpik story sounds all too familiar. I went the cordless route initially because countertop models seemed so pricey and bulky. Thought I'd scored a deal until mine started sputtering mid-floss after just a few months—always at the worst possible moment, too (like when I was already running late for work). Switched to a budget-friendly countertop model eventually, and it's been going strong for over two years now. Guess sometimes bulkiness pays off...literally.

Haha, totally agree. I went countertop from the start because I read cordless models often have battery issues after a few months. Mine's a basic countertop model—nothing fancy—but it's been reliable for almost three years now. Sure, it takes up some counter space, but I'd rather sacrifice a bit of room than deal with sputtering mid-floss drama when I'm already half-asleep or rushing out the door.

Yeah, countertop models seem like the safer bet long-term. I went cordless to save space (tiny bathroom struggles...), and while it's been okay, the battery definitely isn't what it used to be. Now I'm kinda wishing I'd just made room for the bulkier one from the start. Glad yours is still going strong after three years though—that's pretty impressive for a basic model!

Countertop models do tend to hold up better over time, especially battery-wise. If space is tight, maybe consider wall-mounting it? I've seen some neat setups that keep countertops clear but still give you the reliability of a plug-in unit. Just a thought...

I totally get the countertop recommendation, especially if battery life is a concern. Honestly, I've been stressing about this decision for weeks now (I know, sounds silly, but dental stuff makes me anxious...). The idea of wall-mounting hadn't even crossed my mind until you mentioned it—definitely something to think about. My bathroom is tiny, and countertop space is precious, but I'm also paranoid about cordless models dying on me mid-floss. I had a cordless toothbrush once that barely lasted a year, so I'm hesitant to trust another battery-powered gadget.

Your wall-mount suggestion feels like a decent compromise, though. I might look into some DIY setups or brackets online. Thanks for bringing that up—it helps ease my anxiety a bit knowing there's a middle ground between reliability and saving space.
