Sometimes I'll floss while watching TV or scrolling through my phone—makes the whole routine feel less like a chore.

That’s honestly genius. I started using my cordless one while pacing around the kitchen because my bathroom’s basically a closet. The countertop model just sat there collecting dust (and toothpaste splatters). I did try mouthwash in the tank once—never again. My tongue felt like it was coated in syrup. Battery life’s been good for me too, except when I forget to charge and it dies mid-floss... then it’s back to regular floss in defeat.

I hear you on the cordless dying mid-floss... happens to me more often than I'd like to admit. I actually switched to a plug-in model after too many dead battery moments, but you're right, it's big and takes up space. Have you tried just filling the tank halfway? I found it makes cleanup easier and doesn't feel so heavy. As for mouthwash—yeah, that stuff can get sticky fast. Did your dentist ever mention if using mouthwash in those things is even worth it? Mine seemed pretty neutral, but honestly, water feels cleaner to me anyway.

I totally relate to the battery dying at the worst possible moment—been there, mid-floss, mouth full of water, and suddenly… nothing. I did go back to a countertop one for reliability, but yeah, it’s a beast on my tiny bathroom counter. Filling the tank halfway is a good tip; I started doing that after splashing water everywhere more than once. As for mouthwash, my dentist said it’s fine in moderation but warned about potential buildup in the machine. Honestly, I just stick with water now—less mess and less to worry about gumming up the works.

Countertop models might be bulky, but in my experience, the reliability wins out—especially as you get older and dexterity isn’t what it used to be. I’ll take a little lost counter space over a dead battery any day. Tried the mouthwash thing too… just ended up with a sticky mess and had to clean it more often. Water’s simple and gets the job done.

Totally agree, especially for kids. We went with a countertop model for my son after fighting with a cordless that just wouldn’t hold a charge. It’s bigger, but honestly, I’d rather have something that works every time than deal with dead batteries or messy spills. Plus, the water-only routine is way less hassle—mouthwash just made everything sticky and my kid hated the taste anyway.
