Totally agree wax is the way to go. Gum sounds like a nightmare waiting to happen—imagine trying to explain that mess to your orthodontist later, lol. One thing I'd add: if you're really stuck without wax, sugar-free chewing gum can work in a pinch if you chew it till it's not sticky anymore. But honestly, that's a last-resort kinda thing...better off hitting up a pharmacy for some proper wax ASAP.

Had a wire snap on me during a camping trip once—talk about bad timing. Ended up using wax for a couple days till I could see my ortho. Did you try bending the wire back gently with tweezers or something? That helped me a bit...

Tweezers can be tricky, honestly. I tried that once and ended up making it worse—wire got even more bent and poked my cheek nonstop. Now I just clip the sharp end with nail clippers if wax doesn't hold... learned that lesson the hard way.

Yikes, been there myself and totally feel your pain. Tweezers always seem like a good idea until you're standing in front of the mirror making things worse, haha. Nail clippers are actually pretty smart—I never thought about that! I usually just pile on the wax and hope for the best, but clipping sounds way better than poking yourself nonstop. Honestly, braces emergencies always seem to happen at the worst times (like vacations or weekends when your orthodontist is closed 🙄). Good on you for figuring out a workaround though... at least now you're prepared if it ever happens again. Hang in there—braces drama won't last forever, and you'll have an awesome smile to show for it eventually.

Ugh, reading this brings back memories... I had a wire snap during a family camping trip once. Tried wax first, but it kept falling off (typical). Ended up using tiny scissors from a first aid kit—nerve-wracking but worked okay. Glad you found something safer!
