Okay, so yesterday I had a bit of a face-meet-door moment (don't ask, lol) and now one of the wires on my braces is poking out weirdly at the back. It's not super painful, but it's definitely annoying and keeps scratching my cheek. I tried pushing it back gently with a pencil eraser but it just pops right back out. Wax helps a little but doesn't last long enough, you know?

My ortho can't see me until next week, so I'm kinda stuck dealing with this for a few days. Has anyone else had something similar happen? Any clever DIY tricks or tips to keep the wire from driving me nuts until I can get it fixed properly?

Yeah, totally get that frustration—wax is great until you actually start eating or drinking anything warm. Had something similar happen once, and honestly, the only thing that really kept me sane was using a tiny blob of sugar-free chewing gum (dentist-approved!) to cover the pokey bit temporarily. It's sturdier than wax and won't dissolve as quickly. Just make sure it's sugarless and don't chew it afterward...obviously. Good luck surviving till next week!
