Okay, weird day today—was just munching on some popcorn (yeah, I know, big mistake) and suddenly felt something loose. Turns out one of my brackets just decided to peace out. It's still kinda hanging there, attached to the wire, but it's sliding around a bit and driving me nuts.

Did a quick search online and saw two main temp solutions people talk about: orthodontic wax or those temporary braces repair kits you can grab at drugstores. I've got wax already from when my braces first went on, but never actually had to use it before. Does it really help hold the bracket in place enough so it doesn't jab your cheek all day? Or should I just run out and buy one of those kits instead? They seem more legit, but also like...maybe overkill for something temporary?

Anyway, figured someone here must've been through this before. Which one's better in your experience—wax or the kit? Or is there another DIY trick I'm missing that actually works better?

Honestly, wax has been a lifesaver for my kiddo when brackets go rogue. It doesn't exactly hold the bracket firmly in place, but it stops it from poking and scratching up the cheek, which is half the battle. Those drugstore kits seem handy, but I always worry about messing something up even more...so I stick with wax until we can get to the ortho. Good luck—braces drama is no joke.
