I get what you’re saying about water flossers, but honestly, I’ve had almost the opposite experience. For me, using a water flosser daily made a bigger difference than those little “Christmas tree” brushes, especially in the back where my hands can’t really reach. Maybe it’s just how my teeth are spaced, but I feel like sometimes the tools that work for one person just don’t work as well for another.
Some people just seem to have tougher gums or less of a reaction to all the new hardware. Genetics, hormones, even stress can play a part.
That part really hit home—my gums always react more if I’m stressed or not sleeping well. I guess there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.
It’s wild how different everyone’s experience is with these tools. I’m with you—water flossers have been a game changer for me, especially after braces. Those little brushes just never seemed to get everything, and honestly, my hands would cramp up trying to reach the back molars. I do notice my gums flare up more when I’m stressed or not getting enough sleep, too. It’s like, even if you’re doing everything “right,” your body still has its own ideas. Just gotta keep experimenting until you find what works for you, I guess.
