I still wish cleanings were covered more often...

I get where you’re coming from—insurance for braces is a joke, and cleanings should be way more frequent. But I gotta push back a bit on the water flosser thing. For me, those little brushes just never got everything out, especially in the back. Once I figured out the right angle (and stopped spraying the mirror every time), the water flosser actually made my mouth feel cleaner than anything else. Maybe it’s a learning curve thing? Just curious if anyone else had a similar switch.

Honestly, finding the right angle with those things is half the battle. I see a lot of people get frustrated and give up before they really get the hang of it. And yeah, those little brushes are great for some spots, but nothing beats that fresh feeling after a good water flossing session. Insurance not covering more cleanings is super frustrating, though... you’re definitely not alone there.

I totally relate to that awkward water flosser stage. The first few times I tried it, I’d end up with water everywhere—mirror, sink, even my shirt. Felt like a total mess. But after a week or so, it just sort of clicked and now it’s weirdly satisfying? I still get nervous before cleanings, though. Like, what if they find something? But honestly, when I stick to the water flosser and those little brushes, my checkups feel way less stressful. Insurance stuff is a headache for sure... but at least this routine helps me feel like I’m doing what I can between visits.
